`/data/permits.json` is the only permit record file we publish. Each record is one we maintain: a title, park, status, last-verified date, stale-after date, the short window sentence, how to apply, official source URLs, the next window we print, conditions, an alerts link, and a weather link when we have one. A record can also include `typical_season` when the dates are a usual pattern and not a confirmed season. That object keeps `typical: true` and `guaranteed: false`. Unpublished records are included so the calendar can name them. They have `"published": false` and `"url": null`.

The file does not include raw Recreation.gov payloads, facility inventory dumps, or third-party copies. It leaves out internal working notes, weather-grid coordinates, and verification paths. It does not include affiliate URLs.

The shape is [the permit schema](/data/permits.schema.json). Responses are `application/json` with `X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff`. The HTML page for a published record remains the citation. Use the page URL, the last-verified date, and the official source next to the fact.
